The size and type of memory always depends on the period of time for which the measurement data is to be saved. Temperature data loggers are often equipped with an internal memory. There are also data loggers where the memory is a memory card. How large the memory actually needs to be depends on the storage rate. If the data logger is to record much data in a short interval, the memory must be comparatively large. However, if the temperature data logger stores data for a comparatively long period of time, the memory can be selected to be smaller. In any case, the temperature data logger saves the data that has to be transferred to a PC. The transmission can take place in different ways. The temperature data logger can transmit the data to a PC or smartphone via USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or an external storage medium.
