Industrial endoscope for visual inspection of engines, gearboxes and technical equipment
with front camera / camera cable approx. 1.88 m long with 3.8 mm diameter
motor-driven 4-way camera head / IP67
4-way video endoscope with high quality 1 megapixel camera and 3.8 mm thin camera tube
The endoscope PCE-VE 1500-38200 has been developed for inspections of technical components. With the endoscope cable, which is only 3.8 millimetres thick, the current condition of engines, gearboxes, blowers, valves and other components can also be visualized and evaluated from the inside. The high-resolution digital camera is positioned frontally and has a very wide viewing angle of 120 degrees. Six LEDs are placed around the camera to illuminate the field of view at different brightness levels.
The flexible camera tube has a length of approx. 1.88 meters from the tip where the camera is placed to the thickening in the connection area. The diameter over this length is only 3.8 mm, so that even very small access openings can be used with this industrial endoscope. After the endoscope cable has been guided into the area to be examined, the exact position of the camera can be adjusted by pulling, pushing and turning. In addition, if the current position offers enough room for movement, the separately movable camera head can be bent in all directions using a joystick. With this video endoscope, it is possible to non-destructively inspect many details located inside components. The controllable bendable camera head is 46 millimetres long. When this camera head is bent 90 degrees, it has a bending radius of approximately 35 millimetres.
With this endoscope with a 1-megapixel camera, the format for image reproduction on the display can be set at 1280x720 pixels or 640 x 480 pixels. If the user opts for the smaller display with 640x480 pixels, the lateral edge areas of the image are not covered by the displayed menu symbols. The image quality of the stored images can be selected between 480, 720 and 1080 pixels image height. It should be noted that when different formats are selected for display and image storage, the image sections differ because parts of the image at the top and bottom or right and left are removed due to the format difference. In contrast, the format set for the display is taken for the images captured via the freeze function.
Extensive image markings as one of the highlights of the PCE-VE 1500 series
The current industrial endoscopes of this series offer convenient options for marking the acquired images. For example, image details can be circled very easily on the touch screen or marked with arrows and additionally provided with texts. The images can be evaluated, labelled and clearly assigned directly on site without the need for additional equipment. The handling of these video endoscopes is nevertheless very uncomplicated due to the joystick, touch screen and function keys.
The various device models in the series differ only in the resolutions and viewing directions of the cameras and in the diameters and lengths of the endoscope cables. Weighing just over two kilograms, the industrial endoscope can be held with one hand during short operations. The function keys in the upper part of the handle and the joystick can also be operated with the same hand. The handheld unit can also be carried with the shoulder strap, mounted on a tripod, or placed or hung up next to the inspection point.
Interchangeable endoscope cable with motor
Other special features of this video endoscope series include the motor for controlling the camera head. The motor, camera cable and camera have been designed as a complete unit so that connection to the handheld unit is quick and uncomplicated. The camera unit can be easily and securely attached to the handheld unit and detached again if required.
Joystick for camera control
The joystick can be used to change the orientation of the camera head and thus the viewing direction of the camera. Actuating the joystick bends the movable camera head in the specified direction. In some places, bending angles of more than 180 degrees are possible. The joystick is positioned above the handle in such a way that it can be moved with one finger of the hand holding the endoscope.
Touchscreen functions
As a touch screen, the large display allows very easy access to many menus and special functions. Without the touchscreen, some of the functions offered by the industrial endoscope would not even be possible. These include, for example, circling details or placing text with the finger or a stylus. Displaying and using keyboards for text input also only works through the touchscreen.
Zoom: The images shown on the display can be digitally enlarged several times. This is done by double-tapping the image or pulling it apart with two fingers. By moving the image with the finger, not only the enlarged section can be checked directly on the video endoscope, but also the complete zoomed image.
Picture-in-picture: The current image of the examined object can be immediately compared with a stored image on the industrial endoscope using the picture-in-picture function. By default, the stored image appears large and is superimposed on the smaller live image in the upper right corner. Both images can be zoomed by pulling them apart. By double-tapping the small image, this changes to full screen display and the previously large image is displayed in small.
Grid: The display of the grid allows targeted comparisons of small image sections. The grid divides the current image on the video endoscope in length and width into 29 rectangles of equal size. If the grid is activated, this is also applied to the saved images.
Watermark: Using the Watermark menu, not only the grid and the time-date stamp for the images, but also user-specific labels can be activated on the industrial endoscope. The time-date stamp always appears in small red letters in the centre of the lower edge of the image. For the user-specific image stamps, text colour, text size and text position can be set. On the one hand, they can be used to apply designations of the examination object to each saved image. On the other hand, they can be used to insert comments on the saved images.
Freeze images Mark: After "freezing" the image by tapping the padlock pictogram on the touchscreen, the video endoscope immediately activates the associated editing menu. When the pen icon is active, simple markings can be drawn on the image with the finger or a stylus. The marked image can then be saved under the current designation or as an additional image.
Report function: With the report function, reports can be created on the industrial endoscope as PDFs in DIN A4 format. In each of these reports, up to twenty of the stored images can be inserted and provided with captions.
Interfaces
The video endoscope is equipped with the following interfaces: USB-A, USB-C, mini-HDMI, audio, Wi-Fi and a memory card slot for SD cards up to 128 GB.
