Description

Closing Force Transducer
Closing force measuring device for doors and gates

The closing force transducer is an electronic measuring device for externally powered doors and gates. Typical use is the final inspection of new systems as well as regular inspections. Its uncompromising design combines precision with practical robustness and ensures accurate measured values even after years of use in harsh environments.

In the case of cyclical measurements on systems with several doors and gates, a quick and easy implementation is of great importance. For this purpose, Drive Test has developed software that drastically reduces the measurement process and the effort required for documentation.

With just a few operating steps, the measurements of a complete system can be taken over, printed out in tabular form and saved in a database. We provide suitable interfaces (e.g. Microsoft® DLL or National Instruments® LabVIEW) for integration into an automated test procedure.

Software / App

Description of software / technical requirements
For our measuring devices you need one of our software tools. Our software is used to evaluate the data obtained during closing force measurements. Depending on which measuring device or which evaluation device you have, you can download different software.

- PC/Laptop Windows 7 or higher
- USB serial port or Bluetooth interface
- Measuring device
- for the following measuring devices: Original BIA Class 1, BIA 600, FM 100, FM 200, FM 202,
    FM 205, FM 206, FM 207, FM 208, FM 300

PC software PinchPilot
Our "PinchPilot" software is used to evaluate the data obtained during closing force measurements. No additional software is required for daily work.

Data export
PinchPilot provides all the functions required for routine measurements. Should the data nevertheless be processed further in another room, there are various types of export to choose from:

Text export: measured values as a series of numbers; can be imported e.g. into Microsoft Excel
Image export: log or single diagram in EMF format; can be imported, e.g. into Microsoft Word Measurement data can be exported as ppdx (XML format) and imported with our other software tools for further processing
SQL database: A customer-specific SQL interface can be implemented on request
National Instruments DataPlugin (for import into Diadem or LabView)

Evaluation according to PinchPilot guidelines
The software evaluates the measurement results according to PinchPilot guidelines. These are created on the basis of applicable regulations (laws, standards, guidelines). They consist of a set of parameters that contain the permissible limit values. The measurement results obtained are evaluated accordingly. The permissible range is highlighted in color in the measurement diagram and allows a quick assessment of the measurement. We keep the PinchPilot guidelines up to date. Calibrations by us include an update of the software and thus also of the PinchPilot guidelines. With regular calibration, the user has the security of always checking according to the latest status. In addition to the assessment according to PinchPilot guidelines, the user has the option of creating their own guidelines.

Result documentation
There are two options for documenting measurements in paper form: The measurement log is detailed graphic documentation for a measurement point. While the measurement report is documentation for several measurement points in tabular form. This allows all measurements on an object (door, wagon, etc.) to be documented.
You can set the user language yourself: German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. Software upgrade costs will apply if no license is available for the downloaded version.

Features of the Force Meter App for Android

Acquisition and visualization of measurement data
The app displays the data after the measurement in a graph. In addition, other parameters for the measurement are calculated and presented in tabular form. All data is stored in a local database on the device and can therefore be easily found again later.

Evaluation according to the standard
The app evaluates measurements according to predefined evaluation criteria. These are created on the basis of applicable regulations (laws, directives, norms, standards). The permissible values are shown in the measurement diagram or in tabular form and thus allow a quick assessment of the measurement. We keep the evaluation criteria up to date and users can easily get updates from the Google Play Store.

User guidance through measurement process
The user is guided intuitively through the measurement process if a corresponding standard or guideline has been selected before the measurement. Depending on the point to be measured, the app provides information on how to carry out the measurement.
All measuring points are displayed in a list and are marked as completed after the measurement. In this way, the user always has an overview of the measurement to be carried out.

Own measuring objects and measuring point identification
The user has the option of creating a measurement object and saving all relevant data such as designation, serial number, type or owner. In addition, a bar or QR code can be stored on the measurement object. Thanks to the device's integrated camera, measurement objects can be easily selected at a later point in time in order to carry out a new measurement. In the results window, these characteristic data can be filtered in order to obtain all measurements for a measurement object.

Report creation and data export
Immediately after the measurement, a PDF report is created for the measurement. The user has the option of forwarding this PDF directly via email or storing it in a storage location (device, cloud, etc.). If a printer is connected to the Android device, the report can also be printed immediately. The signature and comment functions are useful functions for creating reports for your customers. In addition, we offer a function for creating photos with the device's internal camera. These can be included in the report for documentation. In addition, there is the option of exporting the measurement data as ppdx (XML format). You can, for example, open and process these with our other software tools.

You can set the user language yourself: German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.
