A Color Viewing Box enables the user to make direct visual colour comparisons of products that are to be produced or are already in production. Colour comparisons in a Color Viewing Box are important for a company that aims to offer products of high and consistent quality. The Color Viewing Box supports four different illuminants. The illuminants are previously defined light sources such as daylight, store light, UV light and incandescent lamps. The Color Viewing Box can be used to prevent metamerism before the product goes into series production, for example. The Color Viewing Box also forms an important part of quality assurance. In this way, it can also be checked during the production of products whether the colour values are still within the required range.
Metamerism in general refers to the fact that the same colours can look different under different illuminants.
The internal operating hours counter of the Color Viewing Box registers the lighting times of the individual lamps and thus ensures that the lamps are not changed too early or too late. The usage time of the lamps in a Color Viewing Box should not exceed 2000 hours. In addition to the operating hours, the switch-on processes for each illuminant in the Color Viewing Box are also counted.
