Tesla and Gauss measurement / For static magnetic fields
Magnets find application in many processes in industry, research and quality control. Regular magnetic field measurements ensure optimal use in various areas. Continuous control of the permanent magnets prevents follow-up costs due to unplanned downtimes. The ideal auxiliary tool for checking permanent magnets is the magnetometer from PCE Instruments. The magnetometer is a compact precision instrument. It was specially developed to measure magnetism and is suitable for Tesla and Gauss measurements. The magnetometer is used wherever it goes about the field strength measurement on permanent magnets. Here, it convinces by the highest reliability and precision and at the same time, by the simplicity of the application.
Electromagnetic Field Meter / Field Analyser Application in the industry. With a measuring range of 0 to 200 mT or 200 to 2.400 mT, the magnetometer covers a wide range of measuring tasks. The magnetometer has a practical switching function and can automatically switch between the two measuring ranges. If the current value is in the range 0 to 200 mT, the magnetometer switches to the 200 mT measuring range. If the 200 mT mark is exceeded, the device automatically switches to the 2000 mT range. The display clearly informs the user about the current range.
The magnetometer allows very precise magnetic field measurements with an accuracy of 1%. Thus, with the help of the magnetometer, for example, relays and permanent magnets can be tested for the existing magnetic field. The magnetometer clearly shows the measurement results on its large display. Due to the backlight, the measured values are easy to read even in the poor lighting conditions.
The magnetometer consists of a compact display device and a sensor. The sensor uses the Hall-effect to determine the magnetic fields. The application of the magnetometer is simple and effective. Before each measurement, the sensor should be adjusted to the ambient temperature. To record the measured values, the cover must be removed and the sensor head should be placed in the middle of the magnetic field to be measured. In order to be able to read the respective maximum value correctly, the magnetometer has a hold function. At the push of a button, the magnetometer shows the measured maximum value in the negative and positive range.
Magnetometer in an application
In addition, the manufacturer has equipped the magnetometer with another practical function: if necessary, the measuring device can indicate the direction of incidence of the magnetic field lines.
In order to protect the battery of the magnetometer, the measuring instrument has an automatic switch-off. If there is no input for five minutes, the magnetometer switches off automatically and prevents the battery from being completely discharged.
Application Areas for Magnetic Field Analyzers
The magnetometer impresses by maximum reliability, precision and user-friendliness. The magnetometer is suitable for universal magnetic measurements on industrial, mechanical and electrical materials as well as for laboratory use. Besides, the magnetometer is also used in teaching and research. The magnetometer is the ideal companion for everyone who needs to determine the properties of the permanent magnets, for example to ensure their effectiveness and to determine the magnetic field strength. The magnetometer is therefore ideal for reliable instant analyzes, it is versatile and easy to use at the same time. Due to the handy and robust design and the battery operation, the magnetometer can be used mobile. Its simple operation makes the magnetometer irreplaceable during the measurement of the field strength on permanent magnets and it is also suitable for inexperienced users. The users appreciate the reliability and accuracy of the magnetometer. The magnetometer is used, for example, in plant engineering or mechanical engineering to check the functionality and safety of the magnetic separators or magnetic filters. This ensures that production-relevant processes can be carried out without interruptions caused by the defective separation mechanisms. Magnet manufacturers also use the magnetometer in quality control to determine the magnetic field strengths.
More info
With a measuring range of 2,400 mT, the magnetometer covers a wide range of measuring tasks. The magnetometer has an accuracy of 1%. This makes the magnetometer a very precise measuring device. For example, the magnetometer can be used to test relays and permanent magnets for the existing magnetic field. The magnetometer is therefore used in production processes or in quality control.
With the backlight on the magnetometer, the measured values are always easy to read even in poor lighting. Thanks to the automatic switch-off function, the magnetometer automatically switches itself off after 5 minutes. This ensures that the battery of the magnetometer does not discharge completely.
